The Magic - Day 9

Hello spenders!


Let's make magic with the force of gratitude. Join me by practicing daily gratitude.




 

Practice 9


Today's practice:

1. Find your unpaid bills - Write "Thank you for the money." on them, whether or not you have the money.

2. Find 10 of your last paid bills - Write "Thank you - Paid"

3. Feel gratitude towards the services and luxuries that these bills paid for.



Most of my bills are paid online so I am going to go in and pay those today. The book suggests forwarding the bill emails to yourself and using the same technique as you do for physical bills.


This practice is great for expressing gratitude for things that we take for granted. We remember paying the bill for the utilities or the credit card but we forget to say thank you for the heat it provided or the goods we purchased.


This practice not only helps me to feel more grateful for these things I have bought. It also gives me an opportunity to say no to things I don't need. If I am already grateful for the things I have and a new gadget might just complicate things or take up space I will be more likely to say no. Then I can use the resources I already have and be grateful for the way it fits into my life.


As an example I thought about getting my nails done. I am still grateful that is an option and that there are hardworking people who provide that service. However at home I have my own nail kit and nail polish and I am grateful for that as well, I have the resources to do it myself. I am also grateful I will save that money for a future purchase or investment that is more practical for me.

I was grateful for the awesome new people I got to meet today and get to sing with for the next 6 weeks! They are an awesome group of people I think I can learn a lot from.

What is "The Magic"


"The Magic" is a book by Rhonda Byrne. She is very well known for her book the secret. Essentially "The Magic" is a workbook to put into action the ideas behind the secret.


I highly recommend everybody have a copy of this book on their shelves. It is great if you just need a little inspiration to show some gratitude. I would highly recommend anything by Rhonda Byrne, her books and the secret books in general are easy to read and have great content about the law of attraction and gratitude.

Gratitude


This entire series of posts will be all about gratitude. Today I am very grateful for awesome people. Yesterday was just filled with people I enjoy being around. It was a bit of a stressful day but the people that I was surrounded by made it all better. I don't look back on yesterday and remember the struggle I remember all of the joy it created and the people I spent it with. A big thank you to this book for helping me see the good in things. In past I would relish on the negativity and forget to see all of the light shining around me. Thank you to everyone I got to interact with yesterday!
