10 Things - partner in crime

Updated: Dec 26, 2019

Being grateful for people can dramatically improve your relationships. Even if you don't always see eye to eye it is great to take a moment to be grateful for them. Today's version will be about my partner in crime!

Your partner in crime can be anyone. Mine have changed through the years evolving and still being an essential part of my life, these including many best friends! My current and forever partner in crime is: Eliezer - my fiancé.

Take a moment to think of who your partner and crime is. Where did you meet? What role do they play in your life now? Most importantly what gratitude do you express for them?

Here is a story about my partner in crime:

Back Story

Eliezer and I met in college at Doane University. He says we met at the school hang out grounds (Tiger Inn - they served the best unhealthy food). We may have been introduced there but to be honest I have no recollection of him...

The time I remember best is when we were both at the same Quad party. I was playing video games in one of the rooms - yes I am a nerd but as you can ask Eliezer I am not a good one. He came into the room and was impressed by my very poor video game skills, really I think he just wanted me to stop so he could try to salvage the game for the other payer on my team.

Anyway after a long night of flirtations I was hooked on him. There was a lot more that goes into the story but for the sake of a short blog I'll stop there and fast forward.

Current

Now Eliezer and I have been dating for a long time (April 2nd, 2013). We have been able to travel the world together and still have a lot of places to check off. Our goals align and we are not afraid to dream and more importantly act on those dreams.

We got engaged on December 5th, 2019 during one of our travels around the world (Morocco in Africa) and plan to spend the rest of our lives together doing the same thing. Traveling and enjoying each others company =]

Gratitude

I'm sure you will get more examples of the reasons I am so grateful for Eliezer in blogs to come but so you can get a quick idea of the influence he has had on my life.

10 Things I am Most Grateful to Eliezer for:

1. I am grateful for Eliezer being the calm to my storm.

Eliezer has a way of calming down my over active mind, he encourages creativity but likes to put action behind the idea to make things a reality.

2. I am thankful for the way he loves me.

Eliezer is one of the most loving people I know. He does not show love until it is deserved but when you receive the love he gives he is bountiful.

3. I am blessed for the encouragement he gives.

He is like a great professor, one that wants you to succeed beyond your initial goals. He encourages hard work and dedication which help you understand how/why you got there.

4. I am grateful for the way he values family.

Eliezer is very devoted to his family and I believe that comes from the gratitude he feels for everything they have done for him. He expresses those same feelings toward my family and I have no doubt that will continue for our future family.

5. I am thankful for the adventure in his soul.

We have explored the world, jumped out of planes, started a business and so much more. The willingness he has to try new and uncomfortable things is very important to me and helps us grow as a team.

6. I am fulfilled being with him.

I know I can still be who I was meant to be. I don't feel I have to be anyone but my genuine self when I am with him.

7. I am blessed by his willingness to help.

Eliezer has a bit of a sixth sense of determining well-intentioned people. When these people need help he is quick to be there for them, and he is very good about helping them in ways that make them the best they can be.

8. I am grateful for his ability to keep an open mind.

I have some eccentric ideas, thoughts and reactions to things. Eliezer has learned to embrace these characteristics and at times translate them for myself and others so I can best express the idea i'm truly saying.

9. I am thankful for his determination.

Challenges are just hurdles in the obstacle of life and Eliezer can easily see that is the case. He doesn't look at the issue in front of him he sees the light at the end of the tunnel, and he helps others get through the obstacles so they can see the light too.

10. I am blessed to be able to have him in my life.

He has seen me through my worst and my best. Knowing he is there helps me easily get through tough times but most importantly he is the person I associate with the best times.
